Heddle Shipyards reached out to Sheaves Canada as they were right in the middle of a project and needed 7 custom sheaves urgently. The sheaves they required had to be very robust and heavy duty to satisfy the 12 ton work load and rugged marine environment.
The Sheave Canada design team created a 9” diameter sheave with a 2” shaft allowance. The sheave was also designed to be 3 ½” wide with unique grooving to accommodate the ¾” rope and wider than normal incoming fleet angles.
The project was placed right to the front of the queue due to its urgency. The custom sheaves were manufactured quickly and on time for the team at Heddle Shipyards and are working perfectly.
