These 13” nylon sheaves were required for retrofitting some large equipment for the forestry industry. Standard nylon did not have the properties required for the application so the design and engineering team at Sheaves Canada selected Nycast to manufacture the sheaves from.
Also unique to the project was the specification for a carbon fiber bushing. Not an issue for the team at Sheaves Canada as the unique bushing material was expedited in for the project.
The typical lead time in the industry is 6 – 8 weeks. Sheaves Canada had the Nycast and carbon fiber bushing material in house within days and had the sheaves out to the customer within a week.
